Family & Community Resource Center

We assist families and offer supportive services by providing educational programs, early childhood services, information, referrals, and advocacy for youth and parents. We also have cultural events and other opportunities for families and expecting moms. Serving children from 0-18 years of age. We offer free services for all families in Essex County and we welcome walk-ins.

The Adult Learning Center 

The Adult Learning Center offers:

  • English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL)
  • Preparation for the HiSET Exam, taught in English or Spanish
  • Computer courses

Courses — all free — are yearlong and offered in the morning, afternoon, or evening. When you’re ready, the Adult Learning Center also has a fully staffed testing center to administer HiSET exams. To learn more about the Adult Learning Center, click here.

All registrations are done remotely now by appointment.

English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) training is essential for many immigrants who live in Lawrence and the surrounding communities to live fuller lives and get better jobs. We conduct English language education as part of our Work Preparation Program.
